What else are you also known by? Normally it's "Oi You!"... I'll answer to anything...
What couldn't you live without? I could not live without my laptop, car, mobile or cash card
How did you become involved in radio ? I applied to BBC Radio Lancashire in 1993 asking for a work experience placement. I was asked to go for 2 weeks and ended up staying there for 4 years!
What was your first Radio Show? My first programme on hospital radio was in 1993 and still present there as well as looking after the technical side of things for programmes at the BBC and on specialised stations til working with Billy Grant on a Manchester based station in 2006.
My big break was in Cyprus on a station called 90.9 Napa FM in Ayia Napa. I presented breakfast and read the news at the end of 1996.
Why did you decide to join Hit Music Radio? I love the music that Hit Music Radio plays so much that I jumped at the opportunity to join the team
What other Radio Stations have you worked on? Hospital Radio 1993 - Present, BBC Radio Lancashire 1993 - 1996, 90.9 Napa FM 1996, Radio Rovers/Manchester United Radio 1996 - 2002, 104.9 Imagine FM 2007 - Present
What's the worst thing you have ever done on air? Only two things come to mind.... One must be playing a pre-recorded programme for the BBC at the wrong speed (not a good idea!) and the other was in Cyprus when I was reading the midnight news. I was very tired and warm so we had all the windows open. The first story was a very serious item and half way through (whilst taking a breath) a fly flew in my mouth. I just had to swallow and carry on. I still cringe at the thought!
Do you have a nickname? Only the one... and not to be revealed on here! Take note Billy Grant!!! :oP
